
Dr. Burk teaches the Equine Science and Horse Management courses as well as many horse related lectures and labs in the Department of Animal and Avian Sciences. She oversees the donations and uses of horses housed at the ANSC Campus Farm. Dr. Burk also serves as co-advisor of the University of Maryland Equestrian Club. Major goals of her equine teaching program are to prepare students for careers in the equine industry as well as to prepare students interested in pursuing entry into graduate equine research programs and veterinary school.
